1. NEVER NEVER use your SECRET password on any site other than this one, if someone knows your SECRET password they can use it on this site to get your other passwords ...! You have been warned.
   
   

2. We suggest that the passwords generated on this site are suitable for use with user accounts on websites and email accounts of a NON financial nature. We DO NOT recommend that passwords generated on this site are used on financial sites, banks sites, insurance sites or any sites where a breach of security is liable to result in any form of loss, financial or otherwise. Using a password generated on this site is entirely your risk, we accept no responsibility or liability or offer any guarantees or warranties as to the security of the passwords generated on this site.
   
   

3. This site provides a means by which the user / visitor can encode a supplied password (that they can remember) into a password that is different, but based upon a supplied SECRET password and other textual values (the URL or Name). Passwords generated on this site are repeatable, they are based upon a fixed algorithm.
   
   

4. The obvious use of this site is encode a single SECRET password for use on different sites, such that the user does not use the same password on more than one site.
   
   Using the same password on more than one site is a big security risk because the site owner (or an employee or other individual) may have access to your password and other personal information, which they could use to access your accounts on other sites. Using the same user account name / code or email address on two sites makes this situation more likely.
   

5. Passwords should contain both upper and lower case characters, and should additionally contain numeric characters. They should also be as long as possible. A four character password is not as good as a sixteen character password. A password like "Jeremy" is not as good as "Hgi5B8Jqam9ekpe6"
   
   The passwords generated on this site contain:

   123456789
   
   The number 0 is not used because it can be confused with the letter O
   

6. To make the most of this site your SECRET fixed password should contain 16 characters of mixed case with some numeric characters. Under no circumstances should your SECRET password be one you have used to set up an account before.

7. If you have a poor memory then the "Used for" name that you use could be the URL of the site for which you require a new password:
   
   i.e  www.myfavoritesite.co.uk
   
   ... but that weakens the security ( because any would be cryptanalysts only has two unknowns)  however for most user accounts on most non financial sites, its probably good enough. A better level is security is obtained if you can remember a unique name for the site as well as your SECRET password.
   

8. We make no guarantee or security claims in respect of the security of the passwords generated on this site. It may be possible for an individual or organisation to work out your SECRET password if they can collect enough information about the accounts you have used it on, however it is unlikely, its a lot of effort for little reward.
   
   A Webwidget password is certainly more secure than using the same password all the time on every site you visit, and the generated passwords are more secure than most because generally they are meaningless and fairly random. i.e they are much better than using a child or pets name, or writing down lots of passwords because you cant remember them.
