  1. What does the webwidget do?

    It encodes a Secret password and a Secret Date that you can remember into a password you don't have to remember, but can look up when you need it on this website.

  2. Why do I need it?

    If you can remember lots of passwords you don't. But if like most people you visit lots of sites that require you to register with a password, how will you remember them all. This site solves that problem.

  3. Why cant I use the same password on all sites?

    If you use the same password on every site, your security is compromised, the information stored on Site A could be used to access Site B by the website owner or staff member.

  4. Does this site hold information about my passwords? No.

  5. Does this site use cookies? No.

  6. I got a different password or PIN the last time I used the service?

    Then you must have entered different values.

  7. What happens if I forget the values I entered?

    Then you wont be able to obtain the same password, this is the same as forgetting a password. Nearly all sites offer a solution to the forgotten password problem, so by using this tool the situation is the same as if you used a normal password and forgot that. Reset the password on the site with a new webwidget password but make sure you can remember the values you enter.

    No - Your SECRET password is converted to your site password within your browser on your computer using a javascript program, it is never transmitted over the internet.

  12. What happens if webwidget.co.uk  is not available?

    We have been running many sites for many years, and our sites have a 99.6% Uptime. But should the site be unavailable then you may have to wait a while or use the forgotten password tool on the site you wish to access.
